Yesterday I took a day off the blog and I’m back today with double the dose of sizzling hot sightings! Today’s celebrity street style inspirations include: Kate Middleton, Rihanna, Olivia Holt, Laura Whitmore, Kim Kardashian, Jessica Alba, Fergie, Nikki Reed and more!! Get in it.

Taylor Swift is one leggy blonde! She showed off her pins in short shorts while out in LA. If her music career fails (no signs of that happening…) she could easily take over the runway. Hot!

Sighting of the Week nominee goes to Jessica Alba in that peachy get up. I want this look! She looks superbe!

Kate Middleton looked amazing in a blush dress suit at the Commonwealth Day Service At Westminster Abbey. She’s a classic stylista.

I’ve been loving Nikki Reed’s style lately. Her look for the Lindt 6th Annual Gold Bunny Celebrity Auction was fab. That chartreuse dress and those pink satin heels and lips? Yes, please!

Lily James arrived at The Late Show with David Letterman looking super fabulous in a midi skirt and draped coat over her shoulder. Those sandals are too cute for words!

Fergie flaunted her lovely lady lumps at the Avon Fragrance launch in NYC wearing a printed fuchsia co-ord set.

Rihanna brought out her fur flats for a day out in Paris. CUTE!

Laura Whitmore looked chic in a gingham coat and matching skirt at the 2015 TRIC Awards in London.

Nazaneen Ghaffar opted for a cut out out white dress at the TRIC Awards. Her green suede pumps get a nod from me.

Rita Ora stayed true to her unique aesthetic while out in NYC. I want those colour explosion trainers by Adidas!

Kim Kardshian has feeling her platinum hair. She stepped out in an all black get up serving a right mean mug. I want those boots!

Kendall Jenner was spotted leaving the Chanel fashion show in Paris in a fir coat and ankle boots. Cool.

More Tric Awards sightings! Karen Hauer looked pretty in a skater skirt and blue Zara pumps.

Kristina Rihanoff was the lady in pink in a pencil cut out dress.

Loved Brooke Vincent’s look at the TRIC Awards.

Olivia Holt looked beautiful in a printed green jumpsuit while leaving the InStyle Offices in NYC.

Chloe Moretz uplifted a black ensemble with a printed fur coat while exiting the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris.

Melissa George looked pretty in muted blues at the Hermes fashion show in Paris.

Who are you nominees for Sighting of the Week?

Jessica Alba, Lily James and Nikki Reed take the cake for me ;) <3

second skin 7

Been aching for Friday to get here already! This week has been draining and I’m so ready to unwind and relax with a glass of Cava ;) I haven’t had the chance to do any more outfits so I’ve revisited my Camel (fave colour of the moment) Archives and look what I’ve dug up!

This elegant pencil shoulder dress in a camel shade which is just the perfect nude for brown skin ladies like myself.

India Arie’s Brown Skin comes to mind: I can’t tell where the dress ends and where my skin begins… I wish. Of course, I can!

Well, this dress is part of the Shop Art Becomes You Collection which has just been launched on ASOS Marketplace. Wooohoooo!

Visit our little boutique on ASOS if you’re interested in getting one.

PS** Ever since my last OOTD Rant about Where Do You Take Your Pictures, Mathew has accused me of picking on him unfairly (hahaha!) and has agreed to explore new grounds for our photo shoots. Woooooop! Moaning does pay off. I encourage you to share that post with your partners. I can’t wait to try out new locations.

Until then, bye bye my good ole green door. It was good and convenient while it lasted :)x

Steal Her Style: Kelly Brook’s Dolce & Gabbana Red Lace Embroidered Dress – Out In West Hollywood

Kelly Brook has been busy promoting her new NBC show One Big Happy. I love a good comedy series so I will catch up on it. She was spotted out and about in West Hollywood looking very beautiful in a romantic £1,210 Red Lace Ebroidered Dress by Dolce & Gabbana. This is one striking dress and Kelly kept her look simple by pairing it with a pair of nude court shoes. Stunner. The look is very Spring-ready and I love it.

The dress features a scalloped neckline with delicate lace detail and a skater style skirt. It’s such a pretty and simple piece but at over £1000 it’s a no-go for most of us!

I spotted an almost exact match of this dress. It is now £19.99 by Chi Chi London on House of Fraser! Reduced from £52.99. What a bargain. Get the £19.99 Red Lace Sleeveless Dress by Chi Chi London.

I’m having a moment this week. But what always puts me in a good mood is this Style Diary segment. Thanks to those of you who have been kind enough to express interest and others who have responded to my bugging emails; I have garnered a handful of diverse stylistas to keep your Thursdays spicy here on ABY. So stay tuned! For a chance to be featured, email artbecomesyou@yahoo.com. Today’s fashion killer is none other than the sizzling London-based Olivia of Olivia Gold. I stumbled upon Tumblr over a year ago and she was sooo good, I just had to get her to spare a few moments for ABY! Here’s what she had to divulge:

ABY: A little bio stats

Olivia Gold, 23, Nigerian, I work in the beauty industry in brand marketing. I run my own fashion and lifestyle blog. Something interesting about me I LOVE to eat lol, food makes me happy.

ABY: How would you describe your style and what influences your style.

I would describe m style is minimal with a sexy flare. I love classic pieces that complement the female silhouette. I embrace my curves and love to dress up and feel lad like.

ABY: Favourite high end & high street brands?

My favourite high end brands are Max Mara, Burberry and Celine (will be able to afford it one day soon ;). High street brands I love Zara, Topshop and H&M trend collections. I am actually a shoe girl at heart and love all things shoes.

ABY: If you had the power to, which one fashion store / boutique would you raid and why???

I love this question, my mind starts going crazy thinking what shop I could raid lol. It’s a difficult one but I think when it comes down to it, I would walk into Celine and take everything! I adore their cuts and quality of their pieces and you can really mix and match with tops and bottoms because of the contemporary style.

ABY: What do you splurge on?

Shoes!!

ABY: Any beauty secrets or tips you’d like to share?

For me personally wash your face before bed is a must and moisturising. My favourite make up brand is Mac it works for me, I recently tried Nars and was disappointed so I say Mac all the way!

ABY: What fragrance are you loving at the moment?

Hmmm I’m currently shopping for new perfume and my top 3 at the moment are Dior, Calvin Klein and Bulgarvi perfumes

ABY: Your favourite trends currently?

I would say neutrals, denim on denim and lace detailing dresses they ooze lay like vibes, which is I would say I am channelling this year.

ABY: The trends I just don’t get are…

hmmmmm this is a funny one. I am open minded, I see how others can rock a style and it works for them but not me. So there is nothing I don’t get but I am honest to say that works for her not me!

ABY: This question is just for fun lol! Which profession has the coolest/ most fashionable uniform?

Air hostess, when I was little and travelled I adored their uniform and well-kept together they were and I wanted to be like that.

ABY: Which TV show has/had the best fashion? Revenge & Scandal for me ;)….

Great choices I would say Being May Jane and Single Ladies! Can’t forget a classic Sex In The City too!

ABY: Your ultimate fashion no-nos are…

I would say a short princess cut dress….Hell nah boo lol!

ABY: Your top 5 wardrobe must-haves.

-A classic pump either Jimmy Choo Anuok or Christian Loubotuin Pigalle,

-A naked open toe sandal (they are super sexy) for me YSL or Stuart Weitzman,

-LBD for sure,

-perfect fit denim jeans they work with everything from day to night

-and lastly a nice fitting blazer.

ABY: Your fashion icons…

Easy my mum as I have grown older I am dressing more like her style and I love it. In the celeb world I love Olivia Palermo’s chic style, J-lo’s sexy flare and Kim Kardashian West.

ABY: Your favourite quote/saying

Be still and know that I am God’

Booooom! or na? I think BOOOOOOM.

Olivia is one serious MVP when it comes to fashion slaying.

What do you think?

ribbed skirt 2

Okay, my midsection is in no way ripped but I liked the rhyme of that.

As I said earlier, we never go scouting for new locations to shoot in because… go figure. My hubby felt bad about that post and decided to put in an effort with my photographs. Hahaha. We went for a short walk around the flat and 7 minutes later stumbled upon this park. Perfect. I so ready to pose for my one and only beloved paparazzi when it literally began to rain on my parade. Oh sugar!

I so hate getting wet, but we had already come this far so I went with it. Prancing about in a ribbed mocha skirt and a crop top while the rain was pelting down was more fun than I thought! It was much fun. The only downside: dozens and dozens of pictures with me pulling weird faces.

I’m wearing head to toe New Look! Well, apart from my sandals. I never shop in New Look but I was browsing in there for a tank top a few weeks ago when the nice girl at the till asked me open a store card with them. I said yes because I knew I wouldn’t use it. What a lie Seems like since 2011 when I last went into New Look, they have had a massive revamp! Now I am officially hooked.

Affordable staples galore.

I couldn’t help myself. And these were all on the sale. DAMB x 3.

My nan in law sent us her sewing machine. I don’t have a clue about sewing but I can’t wait to turn our kitchen into a Project Runway sewing room and try making wearable pieces for myself!

What are you doing this weekend?

My Top 5 Shoe Wardrobe Essentials

(Image: The Tia Fox)

“Give a girl the right shoe and she can conquer the world.” Marilyn Monroe was right; a shoe can make or break an outfit, whether it’s for that important pitch at work or a glamorous night on the town. What we wear from the ankle down can make a huge difference to how confident we feel, so it’s worth spending a bit of time and money to get your shoes right. Here’s a guide to what to wear for work, rest and play.

1. The Classic Pump

Also known as the court shoe. Court shoes are a classic for the very reason that they are timeless. Wear them to work on days when you’re feeling quite bossy and in control or recycle them for tea parties and wedding parties. Score one in black, nude and every other colour!

Burberry Shoes & Accessories Crystal-embellished satin pumps

2. The Kitten Heel

I’m yet to own a pair of kitten heel shoes but I’m beginning to fall in love with them. The only thing stopping me is my height! I need all the help from six inches I can get, lol. But I find that kitten shoes are perfect for the office. Or for days when we just need a break from 6 inch heels. They can be hard work! We all want to make an impression at work, but when it comes to footwear comfort is crucial. And this doesn’t mean you have to compromise on style. Smart work tunics and wide-legged trousers look fantastic with soft leather flats, ballet pumps or brogues — neutral colors will complement a muted office wardrobe.

3. The Ankle Boot

Perfect for a chic yet sexy first date…Knowing what to wear for a first date is one of the greatest style dilemmas. If you’re going casual with skinnies and a figure hugging knit, team with a pair of calf length boots for a subtle but sexy look.

Acne Studios Loma Ankle Boot

4. The Walkabout Flat

Think long walks and holidays! Be it a pair of pretty, jewelled sandals, brogues, ballet flats or moccasins. flats are ideal for day-time moseying. A trusted pair of comfy flats for trekking around markets or walking along the beach is always a must-have.

Rupert Sanderson Flat Pointy Ballerina

5. The Ultra Sexy Strappy Heel

Perfect for dates when you feel like dressing it up a little with sling-backs, a great addition to girly skirts, dresses or lace. Or for weddings and dress up parties. It’s worth choosing shoes for a party or wedding, because shoes for women in these situations are as important as the outfit itself. This is when you can go wild with colour — colour match or daringly clash with the color of your dress, and use the excuse to go high on the heels.

Enough to inspire you to give your shoe rack an overhaul? Once you start looking, it’s easy to get lost in the world of shoes, but smart fashionistas will always keep in mind the occasion and buy accordingly. Remember, if the shoe fits, it doesn’t mean it will always fit with your wardrobe. Unless of course they’re simply fabulous, in which case grab them. After all, we all need a wildcard pair in our closet, ha!

Hope you found these tips helpful! What are you 5 shoe essentials?

I thought this fabulous Mohair Coat was my best vintage find ever….Until I stumbled upon this Levi’s Denim Jacket at Harper & Lewis Vintage boutique in the Bullring. I love denim so much and the cut of this was 100% DOPE. I had to have it. Plus it was on the sale rack (for £30). WHOOOOOOPWHOOOOOP. I literally danced out of there.

It is so stylish and warm enough to be warn through out the year. It will be the object of my affection this summer.

I’ve just been too lazy lately to be even bother with twists out on my hair (my go to style), so I combed out my hair with a bit LOT of Fushi’s Virgin Coconut Oil and I was good to go. I won’t even bother styling my hair any more because this ‘fro IS life. I took it work for the first time and my colleagues were all like, ‘OOOHH, someone’s got their hair DID today.’ And I was like actually today I did NOTHING. #NaturalCrownAlert. OOP.

The thing with kinky hair is, it is a struggle to comb! I pulled and strained about 5000 facial muscles during this comb out :(

It was tough.

There was a lot of loss (of hair), patience (by me), kindness (to my edges) and tears.

But I came through.

Hahahahaha. I get way too carried away with silly things. Like hair monologues.

Have a fantastic weekend you guys.

Style Diary: Melody of Blingaholic 88

It’s the 2nd of April and my husband is still pulling April Fool’s pranks on me. LOL. I can’t with his silliness. Here to blow our fashionable minds with today’s Style Diary feature is the bodacious black beauty of Blogaholic 88. Meet Melody…

ABY: Let’s get your bio deets up first…

I’m Melody Sours, a fashion blogger living in Dallas Texas. My site celebrates high and low fashion from Louboutins to vintage shop finds. Never a creature of habit, I love encountering new people and experiences. My husband and I try at least one new restaurant or hot spot a week. Other parts of my down time are spent indulging in wine tasting, shopping and spa pampering. I’ll eat pretty much anything and love the taste of strong coffee. My friends would say that I laugh a lot and try to see the positive in just about every situation.

ABY: How would you describe your style and what influences your style

My style is glamorous and well-tailored with a little edge. I’ve always been influenced by the celebration of a woman’s form. I love the femininity of a 1950s wiggle dress and the body skimming silhouette of 1970s Halston pieces. I’ve also become very attracted to items with edgy touches.

ABY: Favourite high end & high street brands?

Valentino, Chanel; Alexander Wang and Christian Louboutin.

ABY: If you had the power to, which one fashion store / boutique would you wipe out from the face of this earth and why???

Free People. They’re big on oversized fits while I’m drawn to structured pieces that nip in at the waist.

ABY: What do you splurge on?

Shoes and handbags.

ABY: Any beauty secrets or tips you’d like to share.

Every girl needs a good vibrant shade of lipstick. I like Heroine and Ruby Woo by Mac. Getting plenty of sleep and water never hurts either.

ABY: What fragrance are you loving at the moment?

Coco Chanel Mademoiselle. Now and forever.

ABY: Your favourite trends currently?

Fitted midi skirts/dresses and fringe accents.

ABY: The trends I just don’t get are…

Baggy clothing with no feminine lines or structure.

ABY: This question is just for fun lol! Which profession has the coolest/ most fashionable uniform?

Pilot and Flight Attendant uniforms are always so crisp and classic (especially the retro ones).

ABY: Which TV show has/had the best fashion?

Gossip Girl, Sex and the City and Single Ladies.

ABY: Your ultimate fashion no-nos are…

Blindly following trends with no regard to the cut or color that works best for you. Dressing for anyone but yourself.

ABY: Your top 5 wardrobe must-haves are…

-Dark skinny jeans

-Leather Moto Jacket

-A Vibrant Flowing Maxi Skirt

-A sky high pair of Louboutins

-V-neck tees in neutral shades

-Leather leggings

-A fitted pencil dress (Ok, that’s 7. I tried but just couldn’t trim it down any further).

ABY: Your best fashion buy EVER… My 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli. It adds just the right amount of edge to any look and I carry it almost every day.

ABY: Your fashion icons… Mom has been my fashion icon from day one. Also… Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe and Jennifer Lopez.

ABY: Your favourite quote/saying “You can complain because roses have thorns or you can rejoice because thorns have roses”. Zig Ziglar

ABY: I love that saying! Follow Melody online at:

casual chic 4

Happy Good Friday my BFFs of these interwebs! My outfit of today was totally random and taken on a whim. One of those days when you dress up casual and then change your mind last minute and throw on a pair of heels…

Today’s look is casual chic. As you can see I am wearing my ‘comfort trousers’. Everyone has a favpurite pair like these. Not too tight and perfect for days out when you when you stuff yourself to the max and still feel svelte..It’s a WIN WIN ;)

**Ooh before I forget. Who else does this?+

I have had a tab open for Nasty Gal for weeks on my laptop now. It’s insane. I keep adding stuff to my basket and never checking it out. I absolutely love their dresses but I just can’t get around to ever actually making a purchase. And it’s not just Nasty Gal.

There’s Forever 21, Gap, American Apparel, Missguided & Urban Outfitters.

And some of these have absolutely DOPE SH*T that should be hanging in my wardrobe.

Who else does this?! Which brands do you find yourself loving on other people but have never got around to actually buying anything from them?

New Look used to be on that list but I gave in and treated myself to a handful of goodies. Loved them!

Who would you recommend?

Spring Trends For 2015

Like every season, with Spring just around the corner we have to consider which fashion trends are going to take over this year. So far, it looks like a romantic, breezy air is going to take over wardrobes this Spring of 2015. A fresh set of prints, androgynous influences, and luxurious fabrics, will all be present and visible on runways, as well as at local shopping centres this year.

Online catalogues are also a great place to check out the latest trends with many top brands now featuring in them as well as well-known celebrities endorsing their own products.

In terms of the colours, it seems as if a fresh new colour palette is going to take over this year as well. If you like vintage, a 70s style seems to be making a comeback. The hippie frock and long skirts are going to be seen all over this spring season.

A romantic Bohemian style is also one which will be prominent this year. Flowing, dreamy silhouettes are sure to be seen in the upcoming season.

Cool denim is also in. Overworked, embellished, washed out, faded, you will see it all. From torn jeans, to a jean skirt, dress, or jacket, denim is a prominent style for the season.

Androgynous tailoring will help bring together the romance and delicate style, by re-establishing what chic and modern look like. Masculine influences are going to be highly visible in women’s clothing, along with asymmetrical hems to help balance out the different styles.

For Spring 2015, designers are honing in on gingham prints. From girly silhouettes to boyish cuts, gingham is bound to make a great Spring comeback this 2015.

Spring is typically one of the hottest fashion seasons, and is always a season in which we are looking for the bright pastels and airy colours. Although this isn’t completely far from the truth this year, it seems as if a new, more modern style is also going to ring forth this year as well. With new influences, with a distinct style, and with several influences from other eras, you will surely see a distinct mix of styles popping up, within the next few weeks.

Also keep an eye out for statement stripes and lots of featherfringe!

Excited about trends this Spring?

I want to try fringe, statement stripes & bohemian!

What about you?
